I have experience with the Vaganova method, RAD, and Cecchetti systems. I normally like to follow my own version of all of these systems for coaching and teaching based on my own experience in my professional dancing career, and based on observation of the specific student’s artistic, creative, and anatomical needs. I am of the philosophy that in order to succeed as a student, every need of theirs should be met and paid deep attention to by the teacher. I feel it is my duty to guide them through what their bodies and minds can naturally handle and adhere to - according to their individualities and personalities. I therefore try to give each student their own attention as required during close observation. I welcome non-dancers as well. It is my passion to help anyone develop their physical health based on postural development, anatomical observations, and resistance training methods. I also offer pre-ballet, conditioning for the body based on Pilates, mat work, floor barre, resistance training, and gym training. If you are someone wanting to improve your posture or breathing, or wish to work on arm toning, I have experience helping people achieve these things. Thank you for your interest. ~~~ For in-person lessons, I offer scheduled classes at a studio between Bathurst and Dupont. Contact me for more details, or if you have a preference for another location or studio. For online lessons, I offer classes via Zoom, Skype, or WhatsApp. If you have a preferred interface that is not listed here, let me know and I will be happy to accommodate.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

After training for 8 years as a student and then dancing professionally with companies and on stage, I've become very aware over the years on what works for dancers to improve and what doesn't, I developed an interest in how to coach others and how to appropriately deliver to each individual what they need so that they can easily digest information. Ballet is also such a healthy artform on so many levels, and it became my passion to identify how to deliver its beauty with ease to as many people as I can.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I think Ballet is such a wonderful and magical container of many different fields; it is like a micro university, teaching the individual about literature, stories, acting, structure, poetry, music, anatomy, precision, versatility, dynamics, physical education, cardio, art, visual arts, costume design, choreography, math, physics, psychology, empathy. It incorporates all of these elements to varying degrees. My passion was being immersed in this work daily and delivering stories without words. Then my passion evolved further into unfolding all of this to the public and giving to those interested in making this a reality for their own daily lives either for their health and well being or for those needing help with more specific and precise areas, and/or development on a professional or competitive level. The psychological aspect of delivering bite-sized information to people regarding this artform was also very interesting to me: you learn about people's learning styles and try to work around what they need. It's very refreshing, rewarding and inspiring. I myself struggled at times in assimilating to different learning styles during my career, so encountering others who struggle as well lets me give back from my own experience and it is personally fulfilling to give back.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I love seeing my students glow after they have achieved something or after they have done a barre or a class or a variation and feel satisfied.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I had many amazing teachers that I remember all the time and that really cared for my training both in school and in companies. Three teachers in particular stand out - Sorella Englund who was my dance drama teacher (she was an incredible dramatist, and just being around her made you feel like you learned something) and Ana Jojic who introduced to me resistance training and really worked attentively and slowly with me on developing technical elements. Thirdly, Sergiu Stefanschi, who taught me the efficiency of directness, quality control, and inspired discipline.
  • What are your keys to success?

Listening, empathizing, and using my own experiences and memory.
