My name is Rory and I am a specialist Electric-Bass Guitar Tutor (MA & BA Hons Music), Qualified Classroom Teacher (PGCE - Music) & Industry Professional. I have worked as a Mainstream Classroom Music Teacher, delivering both A-Level & GCSE Music. Furthermore, I have worked with Europe's largest Music School, providing expert tuition to KS1-3 students. I have a wealth of teaching and performing experience and have been educating students from all over the world, helping them to successfully achieve their musical aspirations. Previous students have included: Chris Wood (Bastille), Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon) & Carol Decker (T'Pau). I have been performing live for over 20 years, playing in front of thousands of people and have worked alongside musicians including: Clem Cattini (Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Paul Weller), Mike Hurst (The Springfields, T-Rex, Cat Stevens), Ray Fenwick (The Spencer Davis Group), Nick Fyffe (Jamiroquai), Jack Duxbury (James Bay, James Arthur), Dan Western (Simply Red, Belinda Carlisle, Jason Donovan) and Donovan Frankenreiter to name but a few. Lessons are tailored and differentiated for individual student needs, interests and aspirations. Students have the opportunity to study a wide variety of musical genres including: Rock, Pop, Heavy Metal, Funk, Soul, Motown, Jazz, Blues, Reggae, RnB, & Hip-Hop. Students are encouraged to experiment with numerous techniques such as: Traditional Finger-style, Slap, Thumb-Muting, Raking, Finger-Tapping, Artificial & Natural Harmonics. Furthermore, students will be advised to: listen to a wide variety of new music to expand their musical horizons; learn to sight read; study musical theory; undertake original composition; study improvisation, composition & recording; join a band/ensemble and take exams. All lessons are supported with a variety of easy access, online video resources.
