My teaching method is directed towards helping you find your own natural, unique and beautiful voice.
The most important thing in my experience is fostering joy and a love of the experience of singing - this releases tension and allows the voice to flow naturally.
To this end, I work to tailor my teaching style to your individual needs and goals. This could be anything from working on your pitch, learning a song for a loved one, finding your confidence, or of course to build towards a serious career with your voice.
I have a keen ear and a problem solving approach, and believe in establishing a stable technique and integrating this into your repertoire.
For parents of young children, I am a firm believer in the benefits of establishing a love of music and singing from a young age and use a series of fun but educational games and exercises with young children, and a range of backing tracks to all of their favourite songs.
I am an operatic soprano with a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. With a background in Neuroscience (BSc from Unimelb) I offer a unique perspective upon vocal training with experience in a range of styles from Music Theatre, Contemporary, Jazz and Classical Voice. I have worked with children, teenagers, and young adults.
