About Robert
I'm a 3rd year medical student at the University of Oxford and have experience tutoring school students in all science subjects. I have tutored 13-16 year olds for 4 years, working with students of all levels, enabling them to improve their understanding of subjects and achieve the top grades. In addition, I have tutored A level biology and chemistry for 3 years, with all of my tutees attaining their aspirational A level grades and university offers (2 for medicine).
For students applying for medicine, I have also tutored for both the UCAT and BMAT, as well as medical school interviews.
I am definitely easy for students to engage with and find students are more willing to learn from someone of a more similar age - but with the same expertise - as their teachers.

I aim to make my tutorials very interactive and believe that the best help I can give is through stimulating students to grasp concepts themselves, rather than being handed information on a page or through lecturing. To achieve this, we will look at scientific principles that students are struggling with, and have a conversation about them so students can build up a strong knowledge, with an understanding that allows exploration of the subject that is tested in tricky exam questions.
I also spend time planning revision with students as, especially leading up to exams, they will likely spend more time working by themselves than with me. I have a variety of evidence-based revision methods that can aid the learning of specific information in a way best suited to each individual student.
