About Paul

I graduated with First Class Honours from Warwick University, before studying for a doctorate in Theoretical Particle Physics, and then being awarded a Junior Research Fellowship at Oxford. I subsequently pursued a successful career in financial markets for over 20 years, before deciding to change career and become a maths teacher at one of the UK's leading private schools, where I have been for the last 16 years.

About the lesson

With over 15 years' experience both in the classroom as well as teaching online, I have a wealth of experience teaching at all secondary levels. I have achieved above-average results in my classes (which range from very able top Further Maths A level sets to low GCSE sets). I have prepared students for a number of exam boards, with particular expertise in Edexcel IGCSE and A level qualifications. I believe one of my strengths is my ability to create a friendly learning environment as well as adapt teaching speeds according to each individual student's needs. I'm equally happy to teach topics from scratch as well as run through past papers. I also have extensive experience of preparation for Oxbridge assessment exams with a maths component.
