About Aaron

I’m a German and Spanish student at the University of Oxford, where I study Spanish language, translation and literature. I also spent several months living and studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as part of my year abroad.

Living in a Spanish-speaking country gave me the opportunity to use the language every day, well beyond the classroom. Alongside my university studies, this has helped me develop a strong understanding of both academic Spanish and the language used in everyday conversation.

I’ve also worked with younger students through modern languages outreach and other educational activities. Having learnt Spanish as a foreign language myself, I understand the challenges of progressing from memorising vocabulary and grammar rules to communicating confidently and naturally.

I particularly enjoy helping students make that transition, whether they’re working towards an examination or learning Spanish for their own interests.

About the lesson

I offer personalised online Spanish lessons for GCSE and A-level students, as well as beginners and independent learners.

For GCSE students, I can help with grammar, vocabulary, translation, reading and listening comprehension, and preparation for speaking and writing examinations. We’ll identify the areas you find most difficult and practise them using targeted exercises and exam-style questions.

For A-level students, lessons can also cover more advanced grammar, oral examinations, essay writing, and the study of Spanish-language literature and film. Drawing on my own studies at Oxford, I can help students develop more detailed, analytical responses rather than relying on memorised answers.

If you’re learning Spanish outside school, we can concentrate on conversation, pronunciation and practical language for everyday situations.

I also offer Oxford Modern Languages interview preparation for Spanish applicants, including those applying for joint degrees such as History and Spanish.

Lessons are available in 60-, 90- or 120-minute sessions, depending on your needs and learning goals. Longer sessions can be particularly useful for intensive revision, oral examination practice and more detailed work on literature, film or translation.

I aim to combine plenty of active language practice with clear explanations, targeted exercises and constructive feedback.
