About Tereza
Hi! I’m Tereza, an experimental particle physicist with a DPhil (PhD) from Oxford and research experience at the University of Pennsylvania working on large international neutrino experiments.
I have over 9 years of experience in academic research, university teaching, and student mentoring. My background includes undergraduate lecturing, tutoring within the Oxford tutorial system, and several years of private tutoring alongside my research career. I have also authored and co-authored scientific publications in particle physics and detector development.
Over the years, I’ve taught and mentored students across many different levels, from school math and physics to advanced university topics, statistics, and scientific programming. I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence and understanding in subjects that can sometimes feel intimidating or overwhelming.
I aim to create a calm, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their problem-solving skills at their own pace.

My tutoring style is calm, friendly, and highly personalized. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and understanding why something works, rather than simply memorizing steps or formulas.
I adapt lessons to each student’s goals and level, whether that means building confidence with school algebra, preparing for exams, strengthening problem-solving skills, or working through advanced university topics in physics, statistics, or scientific programming.
A typical lesson usually combines explanation, guided examples, and interactive problem solving. I like to break difficult concepts into smaller intuitive steps and encourage students to actively engage with the material rather than passively listen. I’m also happy to help with homework, exam preparation, coursework, research skills, or scientific writing.
My background in both research and university teaching allows me to explain technical subjects clearly while also helping students develop deeper understanding and analytical thinking. I have experience teaching and mentoring students across many levels, from school students to university researchers.
Lessons are suitable for:
- school math and physics students
- GCSE / A-Level / IB students
- undergraduate university students
- students transitioning into research
- anyone looking for support with statistics, Python, or scientific computing
I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can build both understanding and confidence.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I know Tereza from our PhD years at the University of Oxford. In addition to being a wonderful, cheerful, and clever person, she has a gift for explaining complex issues in a very accessible and straightforward manner. She is a great teacher, and I highly recommend her.
I've had the pleasure of knowing Tereza for some time, and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the smartest people I know. What sets her apart, though, isn't just her intelligence. It's how deeply she cares about the people she teaches. Tereza genuinely loves supporting others and helping them learn, and that passion comes through in everything she does.
She's remarkably thoughtful in her approach, taking the time to tailor each discussion and learning experience to the individual in front of her. She teaches with a high degree of empathy and sensitivity, meeting students where they are and adapting to how they learn best. Whether someone is just starting out or working through something more advanced, she creates a space where they feel understood and supported.
If you're looking for a Superprof who combines real expertise with genuine warmth and care, I can't recommend Tereza highly enough. You'll be in excellent hands.View more recommendations
