About Cecilia
Hi! My name is Cecilia Villalpando. I am really passionate about STEM outreach and communications - I believe a good teacher can be the deciding factor between a student being interested in a subject or absolutely hating it, and many scientists are very knowledgeable about their field but not great at communicating this to others. I'm enthusiastic about my field because of others who have taught me well and I want to pass this onto others. My approach in my own engineering studies is that the best way to learn is to understand the topic from the ground up instead of blind memorisation and to practise as much as possible, and I try to take that approach as much as I can when teaching others.

I deliver lessons online via an interactive digital whiteboard on my iPad. I can teach for 1-2 hours at a time, about once a week (or more if needed). I also offer one-off lessons (e.g. for IAs, uni admission consultations, personal statement feedback, urgent exam prep, etc) if you are not looking for long-term support. I have tutored maths, physics, and uni applications for over 4 years, both in English and Spanish, and for ages 8-18. Please contact me if you're interested!
