About Ben
I studied music at the University of Oxford, graduating in 2018 with a first class degree. I have toured the world with the Australian Youth Orchestra as principle clarinet, performed chamber music at St Martin-in-the-Fields and released albums and toured with jazz and neo-soul groups in the UK. I perform both classical and jazz as well as electronic music and I am now back in Perth after some years away due to covid.

The breadth of my performing experience informs my teaching. Whilst I enjoy helping students achieve their musical goals, I also love to explore the musical world with them whether that be learning how to improvise, working out a favourite pop song or discovering contemporary classical repertoire. Listening to music together in lesson I think is also a great way to learn.
