About Charles

I am currently a paramedic that also serves in the military as a combat paramedic, and currently work both in civilian education at the community college where I first got my EMT certification as well as teaching medics in the military many courses and topics including EMT, Paramedic, CPR and combat medicine. I found I had a passion for teaching not too far into my own career in emergency medicine and love to keep myself involved in the ever evolving world of medicine as an instructor at these various levels, while also pushing myself to new areas and learning more as a clinician in my own career. They say variety is the spice of life, and I generally like that as well in my medical career it seems with how many different environments of healthcare I have found myself in these past many years! I hope that this variety of experience and passion for teaching in a way that makes the material stick for you can not only help you in getting better with the material but to enjoy learning it all the better as well.

About the lesson

I have been teaching at the initial EMT program level for 7+ years now and always enjoy teaching and helping students succeed in an area that I remember loving but also having struggles in learning when I first started. I like to bring the variety of experience I have as a combat medic and civilian paramedic from various settings like prehospital EMS, emergency room, flight medicine clinic and combat casualty care environments to help demonstrate concepts and lessons in as many ways as needed to help others learn. I know all too well from experience that each student learns in different ways, and sometimes in a combination of learning styles, and strive to always cater to individual needs in learning so that you can learn in the way you are most comfortable with while not losing out on the important aspects of the material.

I have taught initial EMT classes for many years now as well and and well rounded on all of the topics in the initial EMT course curriculums, so lessons can be catered to any specific topic you may be struggling with or want to learn more about. I also bring more experience in combat medicine and flight medicine if you would like to delve into those topics as well.

Willing to also tutor groups of students on the same topics if preferred, and will keep the same rates per hour regardless of how many are in the group.

Lessons/sessions can be over whatever topics within an EMT/Paramedic curriculum you would like to cover.
