About Riya
Hello, I’m Riya! I am currently studying at UCL, undertaking a degree in History, Politics and Economics. I have recently completed my A levels in Maths, Further Maths and Art and have also achieved 9 GCSEs of grades 8/9. I am passionate about helping students overcome their academic struggles to be able to achieve their potential and have experience tutoring students in maths at GCSE level and also tutor for the 11+ exam. When teaching, I aim to create an engaging and encouraging environment where we can openly discuss struggles and barriers in your studies. In doing so, we can define your goals and start working to make them reality. Tutoring one-to-one means I can personally tailor each lesson to your needs and can create an environment where no question is a silly question! Being a student myself, I understand how overwhelming studies can be and can help simplify the most complex concepts with interactive and enjoyable lessons using videos, quizzes, examples and more. I generally like to start by testing their knowledge on the subject and then identify the areas that they struggle most on. Then moving forward, I will work through questions they find challenging and make sure that they have secured the fundamental knowledge in each subject to build on. Overall I am a flexible tutor and am eager to support students in their educational career!
