About Akira
Hello there! My name is Akira and I am a professional drummer, teacher and music maker based in Reservoir, VIC. I regularly perform in Naarm/Melbourne's music scene, playing drums for a diverse range of bands including PAPRIKA and Dërty Bërd.
Areas we can explore together include:
Fundamental drumming technique and playing.

I hold a Diploma of Music Performance attained from the Australian Institute of Music and have been playing drums for over 10 years. I further studied Music Production at Melbourne Polytechnic and record drums for various musical projects in my home studio located in Reservoir.
Since 2025, I have been teaching drums, piano, and music production in Melbourne's North-West and I am inspired to share my knowledge and expertise with those who are starting out or in the early stages of their musical journeys.
I work with students to achieve their musical goals in a casual, fun and personal way where nurturing their musicality is the focal point in every lesson. I blend the technical side of learning an instrument with the pure imagination and bliss of playing it.
Drum Lessons with me are ideal for beginners to intermediate level students - First timers are warmly welcomed.
For those interested in learning Music Production Software and creating music, I offer Ableton Workflow Sessions to those of all levels.
