About Shirley

With more than 20 years of experience teaching English in Australia and France, I bring a strong intercultural understanding to every lesson. I have worked with learners from Asia and Europe across a wide range of ages and levels, and this background allows me to adapt my teaching to each student’s goals, personality and learning style. I hold a university degree, a teaching diploma and the CELTA qualification, and I am committed to providing clear, structured and supportive guidance. Just as importantly, I believe that students learn best when they feel relaxed and engaged, so I create lessons that are enjoyable, confidence-building and tailored to each learner. I offer both online and face-to-face classes and take pride in fostering an environment where students feel respected, motivated and genuinely happy to learn.

About the lesson

I create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel safe to experiment with English, and where mistakes are celebrated as opportunities to learn and grow. My lessons are tailored to each learner’s needs, goals and pace, ensuring that every class feels relevant and achievable. Sessions typically run for one hour, giving students time to speak freely, receive constructive feedback and focus on targeted language development. I am CELTA‑qualified with eight years of overseas experience teaching business and general English, and I work with learners of all ages and levels, both online and face‑to‑face.
