If your child has started to believe they're just "not a maths person," or "not naturally good" I'd like to challenge that, because I've been that person, and I'm not anymore.
I’m a former Financial Quant Analyst and UCL PhD researcher in Machine Learning and Medical Physics, and University of Nottingham physics graduate - but my journey there started from a place most people wouldn't expect. After mediocre GCSEs and a 12-year break from education, I had to teach myself maths from scratch to get through a Physics degree. I know exactly what it’s like to feel 'behind.' I don't just teach equations; I teach the resilience and the logic I used to go from 'maths-avoidant' to a career in high-level finance.
My background is actually a mix of humanities and physics, and I remember very clearly what it’s like to feel like maths is a wall you just can't get over. The reason I love tutoring is because I’ve been there. I know that for most people, the struggle isn't a lack of ability - it's just that they haven't had the right bridge built for them yet.

I’m here to help students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like they’ve lost their confidence in the subject. Whether you’re just trying to get that essential GCSE pass or you're a Physics student struggling with the calculus side of things, my approach is pretty straightforward:
Meeting you where you are. I’m interested in finding the specific "sticking point" you hit this week. No question is too basic, and there's zero judgment.
Making it real. Because of my work in medical physics and coding, I can actually show you why this stuff matters in the real world - from how hospitals work to how sports stats are calculated.
Focus on the "doing." Maths isn't a spectator sport. We’ll spend the hour actually working through problems together, breaking down the "scary" parts into things that are manageable.
Building momentum. The goal is to get you to a place where you don't dread opening your textbook. We focus on the small wins until the big ones don't seem so far away.
Exam prep: I teach the specific methodology I used to overcome my own exam anxiety - learning how to break down a question and manage the clock so you can walk into the hall feeling in control of the outcome.
I work with all secondary students students, A-Level students, IB students and mature learners who are returning to maths later in life.

Hannah tutored my son in maths after we discovered he was struggling at school. His confidence was really low and he lacked self belief.
Hannah focused on building his confidence, repeating exercises to give him practice and giving him lots of praise.
Over a couple of years he went from openly saying he was rubbish at maths to actually enjoying it and achieving a grade 6 GCSE.
He's now studying for a BSc in Computer Science, he wouldn't be there without Hannah.
Hannah is very calm and patient. She's also kind, finding ways to make maths fun. Hannah was a friend of a friend, but we're now friends ourselves.
Thank you!Hannah and I are professional and academic colleagues; when we first collaborated she was working on a PhD in Physics and tutoring Maths, whilst I was teaching IB Global Politics and studying towards my Masters of Education. She genuinely cares about the emotional motivation and well-being of the students she tutors. Whenever I have a challenge with achieving success with an educational project, she's the first person I bounce ideas off of. The rapport she establishes and maintains with her students and their families is why she is a highly-regarded and sought-after tutor.
