About RUBINI DEVI
I was an English language lecturer in a university back in Malaysia before moving to Australia. I have a degree from the University of Exeter (UK) in Education (Teaching English as a second language) and a masters degree in Linguistics from University of Malaya (Malaysia). I have been teaching English language proficiency courses and IELTS preparatory classes for the past 10 years.
I am also able to teaching academic writing skills, communication skills, and grammar lessons. I love to teach and will go the extra length to ensure my lessons are educational, interesting and practical.

My teaching methodology is very hands on and practical. I believe that a student will learn and improve in the target language only by using the language. Hence, immersing in the language through reading books, having conversations or simply listening to songs or watching movies in the targeted language will be additional valuable input besides textbook learning. I also believe that students should focus on comprehension and fluency before accuracy.
Depending on the student's level, I usually base my lessons by focusing on a particular language skill per lesson. For example, one lesson my just focus on writing skills. By choosing one skill, the lesson is more focused and in depth. The student will also be able to understand the new input easily. I am a firm believer that students must understand their errors and hence would spend a lot of time going through errors and explaining them.
