About Alysa
I have a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics and over 15 years of experience tutoring and teaching students at the secondary and post-secondary levels. I've worked as a private tutor, with a tutoring company, and as a teaching assistant at multiple universities.

My approach with students is to help them develop and strengthen their own problem-solving skills and move towards completing coursework and test preparation on their own, while also assisting with a better understanding of course material.
A session may start with a student bringing an assignment they've looked at and tried to tackle, with notes about what they have tried (even if that's nothing!).
I work with secondary and post-secondary students in math, physics, and astronomy.
My first free session is intended as a consultation session for clients who are seeking a long-term tutor (more than one session). I am open to doing one-time tutoring (e.g. to help with a homework assignment), but this will not be a free session if you are looking to jump right in to work.
