A typical lesson plan is often draw motivations from real life examples that can be used to motivate mathematical reasoning For example, the one to one correspondence principle used in simple counting is used from elementary to advanced mathematics, for example, in ancients times we could know the number of animals we kept by associating every animal we had by the elements of a set of rocks, more rocks than animals, animals are missing, etc ,etc.
