About WALID

With a distinguished academic and research background, I hold a PhD from UMBA, Morocco, where I specialised in the theoretical calculations of Quantum Wells (QWs), and another PhD from Selcuk University, Turkey, focusing on the experimental growth of photodetectors. Currently, I am a Research Assistant at the University of Leeds, UK, where my work is at the forefront of advancing photodetector technology. My expertise spans both the theoretical and practical aspects of nanotechnology and material science, enabling me to contribute significant insights into the development of advanced photodetector systems. This unique combination of skills and experiences positions me to offer high-level tutoring in physics, material science, and related fields (Python and Fortran), with a focus on nurturing a deep understanding of these disciplines among students and professionals alike.

Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology: As a Postdoc in Material Science and Nanotechnology with extensive experience in both experimental and numerical research, my approach to tutoring is deeply rooted in fostering a comprehensive understanding of core principles, combined with practical applications. I employ a blend of teaching methodologies tailored to the individual learning style of each student. This includes interactive discussions, problem-solving sessions, and hands-on projects that relate theoretical concepts to real-world applications, particularly in the fields of chemistry, physics, and nanotechnology. My aim is to not only prepare students academically but also to inspire a genuine interest and curiosity in the subject matter. Typical Length of a Lesson: Each lesson is designed to be 60 minutes long. This duration allows adequate time to delve deeply into concepts, engage in meaningful discussions, and apply learning through practice problems or projects, without overwhelming the student. Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor: I hold a PhD in Material Science and Nanotechnology and have accumulated several years of research experience in this field, with numerous publications in respected scientific journals. Additionally, I have been actively involved in mentoring undergraduates and fellow researchers (in UK, Turkey and Morocco), developing a solid foundation in educational techniques tailored to the complex nature of science and engineering disciplines. Target Audience: My lessons are primarily aimed at undergraduate and advanced-level students who are pursuing their studies in chemistry, physics, engineering, and related fields. I specialise in preparing students for academic success, research roles, and careers in nanotechnology and material science. The lessons are suitable for students aged 18 and above, who are keen to deepen their understanding and excel in these subjects. *** In every lesson, I strive to incorporate cutting-edge research and developments in the field, inspired by pioneers, ensuring that my teaching is not only grounded in fundamental principles but also reflects the latest advancements in material science and nanotechnology.
