About Khaula
I am a highly experienced Mathematics teacher and tutor with a PhD in Mathematics and around 30 years of teaching experience.
I have always enjoyed helping students become more confident with Maths, particularly when they have started to believe that a topic is “too difficult” for them. I find it very rewarding to see students improve not only their results, but also the way they approach problems and think mathematically.
Over the years I have taught students at many different levels, from school pupils preparing for important exams to university students studying more advanced Mathematics. I am patient, approachable and supportive, and I always try to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
My academic background includes a PhD in Mathematics, an MSci in Mathematics, a BSc in Mathematics and Physics, and a Bachelor of Education. I have also spent many years providing private one-to-one tuition both online and in person.
My aim is to help each student make steady progress, build confidence and develop a stronger understanding of Mathematics.

I tailor every lesson to the individual student, focusing on the areas they find most difficult and building their confidence step by step. I use clear explanations, worked examples, exam-style questions and past papers so that students understand the method rather than simply memorising it.
I have around 30 years of teaching experience, including approximately 16 years of private tutoring, and hold a PhD in Mathematics. I teach Mathematics and Further Mathematics from National 5 and GCSE through Higher, Advanced Higher, A-Level and university level.
For students preparing for exams, I focus on both subject knowledge and exam technique, including identifying common mistakes, improving working and tackling questions efficiently. I also support students who simply want to strengthen their understanding or improve their confidence in Mathematics.
Lessons are adapted to the student's level, goals and pace, whether they are aiming for a top grade, meeting a university offer, or need extra support with the fundamentals.
