My teaching method is to follow the curriculum and work with the student textbook while referring to my professional experience to provide, whenever possible, practical examples derived from my professional experience. I am particularly keen to focus on examples derived natural resource management (eg. fisheries and mining) in the NT.
I am a scientist initially specialised in geophysics who worked on the Darwin to Alice Springs railway line. Later I completed a teaching degree. I taught 10 years in the NT. After completing a Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information, I worked with RioTinto for 10 years while completing a PhD part time. I worked as well for the NT Government and overseas in the Solomon Islands and Laos where I taught GIS to fisheries scientists.
