About Begoña

Begona Carrasco, PhD. With QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
I offer Spanish lessons at all levels to both children and adults. I am a dedicated teacher with more than 7 years of experience. I currently work as a language assistant at an Exeter secondary school as well as teaching private students.

As a tutor and teacher I believe students should be given the opportunity to access language in its authentic context, I use a range of relevant, contemporary and current material (audio, video, newspaper/magazine publications, a range of recommended textbooks) in class. I am an enthusiastic, driven and passionate languages teacher whose aim is to encourage and build students' confidence and competence in the skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing. Begoña has been teaching me Spanish for the last 4 months. I am a very experienced second language teacher and teacher trainer at Exeter College, so I have high standards, but Begoña's approach has been perfect for me. She is extremely patient and very encouraging, as well as being great fun. I know she is very popular with the students at the school where she works as a language assistant. She relates really well to children, understanding their needs and is very knowledgeable on child-centred teaching methodologies. She is highly educated and able to explain the complexities of Spanish verbs very clearly!
