About Yasmine

My name is Yasmine, and I’m a DPhil student at the University of Oxford. I am originally from France, and I’m currently adapting to life abroad, which has been both challenging and rewarding! My passion for biology started in high school when I met the woman who has since become my mentor, and it has only grown since then.

I believe that learning should be an enjoyable and empowering experience, which is why I love teaching. My approach focuses on making lessons relatable and engaging, using games and practical examples to ensure everyone feels comfortable asking questions and expressing their thoughts.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy reading and cooking, and I love exploring my new surroundings. I have previous experience tutoring students during my time at university, and I find joy in helping them build their confidence and skills.

My goal is to inspire a love for learning in my students and equip them with the tools they need to succeed. I can’t wait to embark on this learning journey with you and help you achieve your goals!

About the lesson

I like to adapt my teaching to fit each student’s learning style, making lessons relatable with personalized examples and activities. My classes are interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and think critically to truly understand the material. Lessons usually last about 1.5 hours, but I’m flexible depending on what works best for each student. I break things down into simple steps and provide regular feedback so students can track their progress. With several years of tutoring experience, I've recently dedicated time to the French organization "La Main à la Pâte," helping primary school teachers with science lessons. My approach has helped students at various levels achieve their goals, whether it's passing exams or improving specific skills. I mainly work with students aged 12 and up, including university students, and I love helping motivated learners reach their full potential. My teaching style is supportive, with a focus on making learning engaging and fun!
