About Ted
Originally from Maine, USA, I studied math and sciences for many years (Kings College London, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard Medical School) before deciding "what I want to be when I grow up." After spending time as a basic science researcher I veered toward practicing and teaching clinical medicine in a large hospital associated with University of North Carolina.
I am very familiar with the anxieties of identifying a career path and persevering. Teaching others has always been a part of my journey and a source of joy. I love those "hey this actually makes sense!" moments that can bring us closer to finding our unique paths.

I taught classroom math especially algebra, geometry, precalculus for several years as a pre-med student and currently tutor my two children. Also taught chemistry, biology. Lessons can be tailored but ideally around 1 hour.
Prefer in person lessons for effective communication. Goal is to improve both understanding and confidence through instruction and practice. Motivated by the firm belief that anyone can do (and even like) math!
