About Juan

Hello! My name is Juan, and I am a physician with a background in biology and over 20 years of experience in healthcare. Throughout my career I have worked closely with students, medical trainees, and patients, which has given me a strong passion for teaching and explaining complex topics in a clear and practical way.

I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that often feel difficult at first, such as biology, anatomy, and physiology. My goal is to make learning approachable, logical, and even enjoyable.

In addition to science subjects, I also teach conversational Spanish. As a native Spanish speaker, I help students develop natural communication skills and feel comfortable speaking the language in real-life situations.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy learning other skills, spending time with my family, and helping others in any way I can.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is centered on clarity, structure, and practical understanding. Many students struggle with science not because the material is impossible, but because it is often presented in a complicated way. My goal is to break complex concepts into simple, logical steps that make sense and are easier to remember.

For Spanish lessons, I emphasize practical conversation, pronunciation, and real-world communication, helping students become comfortable speaking and understanding the language in everyday situations. I also adapt each lesson to the student’s pace and learning style.

A typical lesson begins with a short review of current or previous material and identifying the student’s main challenges. Then we work through the core topic step-by-step, simplifying key concepts and connecting them to practical examples. For science subjects, we reinforce learning through problem-solving and exam-style questions. For Spanish lessons, we practice vocabulary, conversation, listening, and sentence construction to build confidence in speaking and comprehension.

I am a physician with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and education. This allows me to connect scientific concepts to real-world applications in medicine, making complex topics easier to understand. In addition, as a native Spanish speaker, I can help students develop natural communication skills and cultural understanding of the language. I also understand the challenges students face with demanding subjects and focus on creating a supportive and patient learning environment.
