About Matheus Franco
Science in general and Physics specifically are social constructs, therefore the most adequate methods of studying these areas needs to take in to account the context in which they are developed: what are its impacts on society, the environment, technology and culture? And how are them impacted by these matters? Considering this, I value highly a more global point of view about the subjects to be taught, which should always be contextualized and properly discussed. Exercises are also great allies for concept comprehension, this way I also highlight the importance of problem solving also for more practical matters, such as exams and "vestibulares" (university entrance exams). The classes can be directed towards both highschoolers as well as undergraduates, involving on the latter a more sophisticated mathematical and conceptual approach. Due to the pandemic, the lessons will be taught REMOTELLY, via whichever program suits you best (Meet, Discord, Zoom, etc.).

I am Matheus Franco Ribeiro, physicist with a diploma from UFPR (Federal University of Paraná) with a GPA of 0.92/1.00. I am very passionate for teaching, reason why I chose the "licenciatura" (Bachelor of science with a focus on teaching), so i have extensive specific training for physics education, specially for secondary grade. I also have experience with private lessons for university students. Throughout my bachelors I took part in many of the available extension and research projects: I worked as a guide in a science museum, as a TA in Calculus I, participated in the "Teaching Initiation" (PIBID) and "Scientific Initiation" (PIBIC) institutional programs and also had the opportunity to do a short term academic exchange. Because of this, I have experience with many areas of Physics and Physics Education. I am a very patient and approachable person, which means that if pre-existant difficulties are observed (ex: basic maths), the lesson plans can be directed towards solving these issues. I believe that classes are better developed through cooperation between teacher, student and caregivers, this way feedback is always appreciated.
