I am a graduate in Physics and Mathematics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), so I am well aware that nowadays a decreasing number of young people decide to take up STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) studies and careers due to the challenge that these subjects represent.
With this in mind, I always try to make the teaching and learning of STEM subjects more attractive and accessible to my students – be they from primary, secondary or sixth form – so they can feel more comfortable and familiar with these subjects, and thus demolish the misconception that science is only for geniuses!
