About Bereket
I’ve been tutoring for over five years with Varsity Tutors, working with more than 150 students in subjects like high school and college-level math and physics. I have extensive experience with standardized and advanced curricula, including the SAT, AP, and IB programs. My tutoring rating is 4.9 out of 5.0, which reflects both my students’ success and the trust they place in my teaching. What makes me a strong tutor is my ability to simplify complex concepts. I break problems down to their core principles and build from there, helping students truly understand the material, not just memorize it. I adapt my explanations based on how each student thinks and learns, which helps even the most overwhelmed students gain confidence. My time as a Teaching Assistant further strengthened my teaching skills — I’ve led problem-solving sessions, held office hours, and supported students through tough material. More than anything, I care deeply about helping people learn in a way that sticks. Seeing something finally “click” for a student is the most rewarding part of what I do.

I understand the frustration of confusion, and it’s even more annoying when you find out that what’s keeping you stuck could be something so simple. But it only becomes simple once you see it… There are many moments like this when studying math or physics or learning anything new, I want to help navigate the confusion. There are lots of questions to ask, but that also means lots of learning. And looking back at the problem you conquered going “oooh, I get it now….” That’s the goal.
