About Gurpreet

I am a physicist from India, but I moved to Brisbane, Australia in 2023. I hold a Doctorate (Ph.D.) Degree and a Master's degree in Physics. I worked as a researcher studying the effect of Electromagnetic waves on human and agricultural fields. I've been teaching physics and maths since 2002 when I was finishing my bachelor's degree. I was usually teaching my classmates and since then I realized my passion for teaching and helping others to learn.
I was a Lecturer in Physics cum Head of the physics department at a prestigious school in India. During my teaching journey, I taught students from year 9 to year 12 all the basics of fundamental physics which included:

I have also been preparing students in grades 11 and 12 since 2006 for typical medical and engineering entrance exams using multiple-choice methods. Many of my students are working as engineers in multinational companies and as doctors in different hospitals.
We like experimental classes and practical classes. For example, if you want to understand waves, we can use music as a bridge, or use games to learn mechanics. To me, the most important thing about learning any subject is your goals and watching you prove yourself. That's why I use real-life examples to bring the topic into reality to make the concepts clearer.
My teaching style is very positive and I act as a learning coach, advising and teaching you how to study on your own. It usually tries to answer questions like: why do you want to learn this and how far can you go? I will start the first session by reviewing your goals and checking your current level, especially your weaknesses, but also your strengths. This helps us manage expectations and allows us to track future courses and plans. I develop interdisciplinary and engaging lesson plans for students in a variety of subjects. It is also noted for fostering a positive learning environment of mutual respect, critical thinking, and analysis of art and society.
I can break down complex topics in math and physics into simpler, direct ideas. You can work on any site and we work through it together, or you can ask for a specific site and I will prepare a document for you. In my courses, we typically use free online resources such as Google Docs, screen sharing, PDF files, and slides or videos. I prefer to give you homework to do in your own time and we will check it at the beginning of the next lesson.

About the lesson

I am a teacher bearing a doctorate along with a Master's degree in Physics having the full potential to teach Physics to years 9 to 12. I also have great past experience teaching Chemistry and Maths to years 8 to 10. I have a total experience of 16 years of teaching including preparation of medical and engineering exams. My basic approach is to teach the student by recognizing the level of the student. I use different experimental and theoretical approaches and videos as well to teach my subjects.
