About Baketi
I’m a passionate musician and music tutor based in Pretoria, with experience teaching adults who play recreationally, beginners and young learners piano and guitar.
I learned guitar from my father and taught myself piano, which gave me a strong appreciation for learning music from the ground up. I’m also developing my skills in music theory, staff notation, songwriting and musical performance.
My teaching approach is patient, encouraging and practical. I believe students learn best when they understand what they are playing while also having fun making music.
For children, I adapt lessons to their age and attention span, combining playing, rhythm, basic theory, listening exercises and familiar songs. My goal is to help each student develop confidence while building a strong musical foundation that they can continue developing over time.

My lessons are designed for intermediates, beginners and young learners who want to learn piano or guitar in a fun, patient and structured environment.
For beginners, we start with the fundamentals: posture, technique, rhythm, note recognition, chords and basic music theory. As students progress, we introduce reading music, playing songs, chord progressions and eventually songwriting and arranging.
For younger children, lessons are kept engaging and age-appropriate. We use short activities, rhythm exercises, musical games and familiar songs to develop their skills without making the lesson feel overwhelming.
Every student progresses differently, so I adapt the pace and material according to their age, experience and goals.
My aim is not simply to teach students how to copy songs, but to help them understand music well enough to eventually play, read and create music independently.
