About Tameka
"Music has been the core of my life since childhood and informs how I guide students today. I admit that maintaining discipline while keeping music enjoyable remains a delicate balance for many musicians. My training at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music provides a foundation for students to develop technique without losing the joy of playing. I have spent 13 years teaching piano to returning learners and working professionals.
My approach emphasizes posture and hand position alongside pedaling technique and dynamics and expression. I also incorporate sight playing and sight transposition for comprehensive musicianship. Many students reach the point where they perform confidently within 1 term of study.
Those preparing for ABRSM or Trinity grade exams find my methodical style particularly helpful for technical clarity. Let us start making music together soon."
