About Owen
My name is Owen Mok, and I'm a concert pianist currently pursuing graduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music in London, UK. I previously completed my Master's degree in Piano Performance at McGill University's Schulich School of Music, where I was sponsored by the Graduate Excellence Fellowship and graduated with minors in Composition and Music Theory, along with the Outstanding Achievement in Piano Award. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to perform both across Canada and internationally. My accomplishments include a silver medal at the 2022 Canadian Music Competition, a semifinalist placement in the prestigious Prix d'Europe in Montreal (2026), and an Honorable Mention at the Mannes Piano Competition in New York (2025). I've also had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with celebrated pianists including Louis Lortie, Ronan O'Hora, Aleksandar Madžar, and Robert Levin. In my earlier training, I received top prizes at the Peel Music Festival and Ontario Music Festival, and won the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.

I am a RCM certified teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. At the core of my pedagogy is a commitment to fostering both technical excellence and independent musical thinking. Above all, I seek to instill a lifelong connection to music for my students, nurturing not only skilled musicians but engaged and thoughtful listeners.
