About Lucy
I am a qualified piano teacher with an AMEB Associate in Music (AMusA) in Piano, and a double degree with honours at university. I have had around 20 years of piano experience, and I possess previous experience teaching young children, teenagers and adults. I have taught beginner to advanced players, for both personal enjoyment and AMEB exams.

My teaching methodology is centred on what the student in interested in learning, and I am flexible to cater towards each student's needs. I am happy taking charge to develop and deliver lesson plans for my student, and also being guided by the student and delivering what they want to learn. I have taught classical, pop and jazz piano music.
A typical lesson with me would include starting with scales and finger exercises, before dedicating some time to various pieces. If the there are improvements the student can make, I will identify them and help the student learn the technique. I will also make annotations on the manuscript to help the student learn, and to remind them of the correct technique when reading music. I am patient with my students, and if they have shown improvement, I will praise them. Finally, I like to write my student's homework in a small book so they can remember what they need to improve on.

Perfect! Lucy was fantastic with my kids, she was really patient with both my 6 year old beginner and my11 year old. Tailored instruction to their needs, not pushing them in a particular direction. Great communication/coordination for setting up lesson timing.
