About Rohit
Hi! My name is Rohit, and I have been playing piano for over 12 years. I am RCM-trained and have experience performing and studying a variety of genres, including classical, jazz, and pop music. My strongest foundation is in classical piano, and I currently play clarinet with the University of Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, giving me a broad understanding of music theory, musicianship, and performance.
In addition to my musical background, I have over five years of teaching experience. Through teaching both music and academic subjects, I have developed effective methods for helping students learn efficiently, build strong practice habits, and achieve their goals in a supportive environment.

Having studied under multiple teachers as well as spending time learning independently, I understand that every student learns differently. I tailor my lessons to each individual's needs, whether they are a complete beginner, preparing for RCM examinations, or simply looking to play for enjoyment.
I also have hypermobility in my joints, which has taught me the importance of proper technique, healthy posture, and injury prevention. As a result, I place a strong emphasis on developing good habits from the beginning and avoiding shortcuts that can limit progress later on.
If you or your child are interested in piano lessons, I would be happy to discuss your goals and see whether I would be a good fit. I offer a free trial lesson so we can get to know each other and determine the best path forward.
Lessons are available both online and in-person, and I am happy to travel to your home.
