About Gene
Cassette tapes and messy tabs started my musical life, eventually leading to a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar from the University of North Texas. Teaching for 11 years means I bridge that gap between rigid theory and self-taught instinct effortlessly. Fingerpicking and blues progressions are some of my favorite things to explore.
I enjoy watching students finally nail those tricky barre chords. It is fun.
