About Brett
Hello! I’m Brett, a law student at the University of Western Australia, and I’m here because I truly believe that the most complex subjects become manageable when you have the right person in your corner.
My journey into law wasn't just about textbooks; it was built on a foundation of working with people from all walks of life. Whether I was managing the lunch rush at The Chopped Leaf or handling a stadium crowd at TD Place, I learned that the key to success—and helping others—is clear communication, patience, and staying calm when the pressure is on.
I want to teach because I know exactly how overwhelming it feels to stare at a mountain of information and not know where to start. My motivation has always been to help people, and there is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing that "lightbulb moment" when a difficult concept finally clicks for a student.
I’m not just here to give you the answers; I’m here to share the study habits, analytical tools, and professional resilience that I’ve developed throughout my time at UWA and in the workforce.
You can expect a tutor who is not only academically rigorous and professional but also deeply empathetic to the challenges of being a student. I pride myself on being approachable and reliable, ensuring that our sessions are a safe space for you to ask questions, make mistakes, and ultimately build the confidence you need to succeed.
I’ve been where you are, and I am fully committed to helping you reach your goals with the same dedication I bring to my own legal studies

About My Tutoring Approach
My Methodology: The "Legal Logic" System
My teaching approach is rooted in the same analytical rigor I apply at the University of Western Australia (UWA). I don’t believe in rote memorization; instead, I focus on Legal Logic—teaching students how to deconstruct complex problems, identify the "heart" of an issue, and build a persuasive argument from the ground up.
Whether we are tackling statutory interpretation or refining your professional writing, I use a scaffolded technique: first, we master the theory, then we apply it to real-world scenarios or past exam questions until the process becomes second nature.
Coming from a background in high-volume service at TD Place and The Chopped Leaf, I understand that learning (like law) can be stressful.
My classes are high-energy and supportive. I focus heavily on active listening and empathy, ensuring that you feel comfortable asking "why" until you truly grasp the concept. I aim to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application, helping you develop the "soft skills" like conflict resolution and professional communication that are vital in the workplace.
Typical Lesson Length I generally recommend 60-minute sessions. This allows us enough time to review previous material, dive deep into a new complex topic, and leave 10 minutes at the end for practical drills or Q&A without feeling rushed. For intensive exam prep or mooting practice, I offer 90-minute "Deep Dive" sessions
