About Nanako

I am a friendly and supportive Japanese teacher who helps learners practice speaking and listening in a relaxed environment so they can use Japanese with more confidence.

I offer relaxed, practical lessons where you can practice expressing what you want to say in Japanese through conversation topics and real communication.

These lessons are suitable for people who are studying Japanese but do not have many chances to use it, as well as learners who already have opportunities to speak Japanese but want support speaking more naturally and accurately.

I welcome both students who want to practice regularly and people who simply want to try speaking with a native Japanese speaker a few times.

For learners who are still complete beginners, I can also provide more structured lessons focusing on grammar and basic Japanese.

About the lesson

• Relaxed conversation-focused Japanese lessons (no fixed commitment required)

Once a week: 30 minutes – $30
Twice a week: $45 total (30 minutes each lesson)

• Single casual conversation lesson

30 minutes – $30

These lessons are designed for learners who want to actually USE Japanese in real conversation. We can talk freely or choose a topic together before the lesson. I can also help adjust your Japanese so you can speak more naturally and confidently.

Topics can be decided by me, or you are welcome to choose topics you would like to talk about in advance.

• Conversation + grammar support lesson

45 minutes – $45

For learners who would like conversation practice while also asking questions about grammar, school Japanese, homework, JLPT preparation, or anything related to Japanese learning.

• Structured lesson-style classes are also available if requested

60 minutes – $60

For learners who prefer more traditional lessons focused on learning new grammar and vocabulary step by step.

Lesson content and speed can always be adjusted depending on your level and learning pace. Some lessons may be repeated, combined, or skipped if unnecessary.
• Free 30-minute trial lesson (structured lesson students only)

I offer a free 30-minute online trial lesson for students who are interested in structured lesson-style classes. This trial lesson is mainly for self-introduction, checking your current Japanese level, and discussing your goals and lesson style. Please note that this is not a full lesson with detailed teaching content.

He is very good at memorizing things, and he absorbs Japanese quickly—from things I’ve explained to him to Japanese he has seen in films and other video content—and improves rapidly. He also understands language structures very quickly, which allows him to learn a wide range of Japanese, from formal expressions to the casual Japanese used by native speakers.
