About Jiacheng

As an educator with a unique international perspective, I bring together scientific rigor and genuine care for student well-being. My journey from conducting CRISPR gene editing research at UC Santa Barbara to supporting students with learning difficulties has taught me that true education is about unlocking each person's potential, not forcing them into a predetermined mold. Currently completing my Master of Teaching at the University of South Australia while simultaneously pursuing a Master's in Psychology, I understand both the science of learning and the emotional journey students face when struggling academically. My research background, including published work on therapeutic interventions, means I approach each learning challenge with analytical precision while maintaining deep empathy for the student experience. Having taught across three continents and in multiple languages, I've learned that success in education isn't about natural talent but about finding the right approach for each individual. Every student I've worked with, from those facing severe learning difficulties to high achievers seeking enrichment, has taught me something new about the diverse ways humans learn and grow. My students often tell me they appreciate that I never make them feel rushed or judged. I create a safe space where making mistakes is part of learning, where questions are celebrated, and where progress is measured by personal growth, not comparison to others. About the lesson

I specialize in supporting students with learning difficulties, using a personalized approach that connects new concepts to students' existing interests and strengths. My methodology combines visual, hands-on, and discussion-based techniques to accommodate different learning styles. Each 60-90 minute session includes confidence-building review, interactive learning, and student-led consolidation where they explain concepts back to me. With my Master's in Teaching (UniSA) and Psychology (Sofia University), plus international experience supporting middle school students in biology and English, I work primarily with secondary students aged 12-18 who need additional academic support or are managing learning challenges. My trilingual abilities also help international students bridge language barriers.
