About Mary Grace
I have recently graduated from a three year University course in Primary Education and during those three years I have had placements within two different schools. During my placements I have planned and taught the Primary National Curriculum (including Maths and English) to a class of thirty children. In my degree I specialised in Mathematics and so I have distinct knowledge of how to teach Mathematics in an interactive and age appropriate way. I am currently tutoring my sister to help her prepare for her Maths GCSE and would like to strengthen my tutoring abilities.

As a previous primary teacher trainee, my strengths lie within working with children in KS1 and KS2. I access the UK's National Curriculum online in order to plan for lesson progression and look into past SATs / GCSE exam papers to determine the types of questions that may come up in an exam. If a child is struggling with Maths, it is important to first understand why a mathematical process is carried out rather than just methodically memorising a step-by-step process. I also ensure that lessons are engaging and interactive.
