About Samuel
I am a Primary education student in the final year of my degree. I have a passion for both numeracy and literacy. I am currently tutoring two EAL/D students in mathematics and have developed their numeracy capacity and problem solving skills. One of the students has improved in the areas I have tutored to become to of his class in division and multiplication. The other student has gained confidence in mathematics and thus no longer actively avoids it.

I approach this topic with the preface that improvement takes work, you won't magically become a mathematician. It requires practice and engagement along with moving past the fear of making mistakes.
I encourage risk taking with the student's learning and developing problem solving skills for when it doesn't work out. I guide the students towards considering the questions and reasoning why they are doing what they do. This builds self-confidence and a trust that they do know what they are doing.
