About Joshua
My name is Josh. I have been teaching for 13 years. Currently, I tutor and work for my local maths hub, supporting schools with the teaching of high quality maths. I sometimes work with the NCETM to create maths resources to be used nationally.
Previously, I have been Deputy Head, Assistant Head and Head of Year 6 in a primary school. I have experience working from nursery upto secondary - working closely with the local secondary school to develop the teaching of maths in their school.
Away from teaching, I love watching football and cooking.

I make tricky maths fun, easy and understandable.
I help 8 - 12 year olds develop confidence in maths.
My lessons are 60 minutes long. We start with a fun or activity game to develop fluency in key number facts. Then explore a mathematical concept, using images and representations to ensure an in depth understanding is formed.
My other job is working with other teachers to deliver maths effectively in their school.
