About Gayle
After many years of classroom teaching and individual tutoring using different learning programs, I have the experience of instructing all kinds of learners, knowledge of how children learn and a stock of varied learning materials to prepare precise lessons to improve or advance each student’s skills and abilities, in fun and interesting ways.
As a tutor I like to be seen as friendly and caring, considering the personality and concerns of the student while showing that the completion of the learning task in a timely manner is important.
I like to quickly get to know the student's interests and share my interests in drawing, painting, reading, sport and travel so there is an easy and happy exchange of news or thoughts before and after each lesson. This provides a calming start or winding down to put the student at ease and reduce the pressure that the concept of tutoring can sometimes create.

I’m a retired Queensland primary school teacher who has tutored individual children in their homes for the past 7 years. I have worked for a company providing individual homework and study support and as a private tutor. The first lesson is offered for free in order to establish compatibility, to consult with parents and students and for pretesting. I create an interesting and targeted individual program with written and oral exercises, activities and games to suit the needs and learning style of each student.
