About Grace
I am a Primary School Teacher in Melbourne currently teaching Foundation. I love all English and Mathematics and have a thorough understanding of how to support children's reading and writing.
I specialise in phonetics (sounds of the English language) and using this to support children's literacy.
I have undertaken training from renowned Mathematics coach Michael Ymer and use his curriculum and philosophy in my teaching.
I have a Masters of Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology and History).

I am a gentle and encouraging teacher and pride myself on my ability to form trusting relationships with all of my students. I believe positive reinforcement is key in creating a safe space in which students feel comfortable to take risks in their learning and make mistakes. I celebrate the little successes and use positive language to encourage and support children in their learning.
As I work with young children, I use hands on activities in both English and Mathematics. These hands on activities are enjoyable for children and engage them in their learning. I incorporate a lot of literacy and numeracy games that make learning fun.
