About ALEXANDRA

Hi, I'm Ali! I am currently studying Primary and Secondary Education. Graduated VCE in 2022 with a 90+ ATAR.

I am particularly passionate about Arts and Literacy Education. Dance, drama, singing, and reading have always been at the heart of my identity as both a learner and a teacher. I recently graduated with a Diploma of Musical Theatre, which continues to shape my English teaching practice and my commitment to fostering creativity in young people.

Alongside my university studies, I work as a dance and singing teacher at a local studio, and as a co‑curricular dance coach for junior school students at two private schools in Melbourne. These roles have strengthened my understanding of child development, and the importance of building safe, positive learning environments.

Outside of teaching and performing arts, I find joy in watching period dramas with my sister, reading novels, and listening to Taylor Swift.

About the lesson

I am offering English tutoring for Prep - Year 10.

My personal teaching philosophy is focused on nurturing each student with kindness and support and encouraging gratitude for the ability to learn and grow. I bring a warm, encouraging, approach to English tutoring. My lessons are designed to build confidence, strengthen core literacy skills, and help students genuinely enjoy learning.

I use a student-centered teaching methodology, combining explicit instruction, guided practice, and creative learning activities. My sessions often include phonics work, reading fluency development, structured comprehension strategies, and step-by-step writing support. I also focus on helping students understand texts deeply, analyze ideas clearly, and express themselves with confidence.

A typical lesson runs for 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and attention span. Each session is personalized, goal‑driven, and paced to ensure students feel supported, capable, and motivated.

My tutoring is ideal for primary school students and learners up to Year 10. I am particularly passionate about helping students who may feel unsure, overwhelmed, or behind, creating a calm, positive environment where they can grow.
