About Lisa
I have been tutoring Maths and English at Primary level for several years (although I have over 20 years teaching experience) and have a great track record for improving their performance. Each student is assessed and individual lessons are created to meet their own needs in creative and fun ways. By allowing the children a variety of activities, independence and understanding are fostered whilst discovering their own capabilities and talents.
I have extensive experience with children with additional needs, specifically Dyslexia, Autism and ADHD. My degree is in Psychology and I would love to extend my tutoring to include this at GCSE level.
I believe it is crucial that I create a supportive, trusting learning environment where each child feels valued, safe and unafraid to make mistakes. I feel that the ability to develop a good relationship with the children underpins all learning that takes place. Making learning experiences exciting, motivating and first hand draws upon a child’s natural curiosity and helps develop a lifelong love of learning.
I judge myself to be a hard working, dependable and enthusiastic teacher who is able to build good relationships with the children and parents alike.
