About Lauren
I graduated from Cleveland State University in 2022 with a B.A. in both English Literature and Film & Media Studies, summa cum laude, and with a Minor in Psychology. I currently work as a photo lab technician, where I develop and scan film, and a freelance tutor, photographer, and actor. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my cats, watching old movies, decorating my home, volunteering at my community theaters, and writing for pleasure. I've been tutoring since I was a senior in high school, about 8 years now, with experience working with students ranging from kindergarten to college in both English and Psychology. I have a deep love and understanding for tutoring English Literature, especially, and have had consistent success making it a more accessible and enjoyable subject for all of my students.

Unless other materials are requested, all of my tutoring sessions come with built-in lesson plans designed specifically to you, the student. I take a strong interest in what sets you apart, what makes sense to you vs. what doesn't, and your own personality and learning style. Students K-12 (as well as adult students) can expect custom, creative lesson plans and practice work that will explain concepts in new ways, reinforce lifelong literacy skills, and demystify English class. You'll also get to meet my cats during our online sessions. :)
