About Samridh Vikhas

I was a Chegg subject matter expert in probability and statistics, where I solved several hundred undergraduate problems under a strict accuracy review — which is a fast way to learn exactly where students get stuck, because you see the same three misconceptions again and again.

I now work full-time as a data analyst in Madurai. Sampling, distributions, hypothesis testing and regression aren't topics I revise before a class; they're what I use to make decisions at work, including the judgment calls that sit outside the formula — which test actually fits, when the assumptions don't hold, and what a result does and doesn't let you claim.

Most statistics teaching hands over the formula and skips both the intuition before it and the application after it. That's why the subject feels arbitrary to so many students, and why it disappears from memory the week after the exam. I teach all three, in that order.

I've tutored math and statistics since my undergraduate years, in English, Hindi and Tamil.

About the lesson

Statistics is the subject most students pass without ever understanding. I teach it the other way around — you'll know what a p-value actually means before you learn how to calculate one.

I use statistics professionally as a data analyst: sampling, distributions, hypothesis testing and regression, along with the judgment calls that textbooks leave out. Before this, I was a Chegg subject matter expert in probability and statistics, solving UG-level problems to a strict accuracy standard.

Topics covered: descriptive statistics, probability theory, random variables and distributions, sampling and estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, correlation and regression, non-parametric tests — and the statistics papers in B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA and engineering syllabi.

How I teach: every concept gets three passes. The intuition first, then the mathematics, then a worked application in Excel, Python or R. Most students only ever receive the middle one, which is exactly why the subject feels arbitrary and unmemorable.

I'm happy to work directly from your university's syllabus and past question papers — send them across before we begin and I'll build the sessions around them rather than around a generic curriculum.

Also available for: project and dissertation statistics, viva preparation, and one-off help before an exam.

Postgraduate and MBA students: I also cover business statistics, quantitative methods and research methodology — including the analysis chapters of dissertations and project reports, where the usual problem isn't running the test but choosing the right one and defending it in the viva.

My standard rate is ₹1,000 per hour for online classes at undergraduate level. No webcam fee, no travel fee, no materials charge. Written notes and worked solutions after every session are included.

Packages:
5 hours — ₹4,750 (₹950 per hour)
10 hours — ₹9,000 (₹900 per hour)

Package hours don't expire and can be used at whatever pace suits your semester — weekly through the term, or compressed into the fortnight before an exam.

Free first class:
The first hour is free, with no obligation to continue. Send me your syllabus or a past paper beforehand and I'll come to that session having read it, so we can spend the hour on your actual gaps rather than on introductions. You'll get a straight assessment at the end, including how many sessions I think you realistically need.

Payment:
After each session or at the start of a package, by UPI or bank transfer. Reschedules are free with a day's notice.
