About Simon

I am a professionally trained actor and dancer with a degree in dance and drama, bringing a lifetime of performance experience directly to our sessions. Over a 16-year career as a performing arts teacher in further education, I have successfully guided hundreds of students through the rigours of formal examinations, high-stakes auditions, and creative project development. Alongside my background in education, I work as a professional voice actor and audiobook narrator, which keeps my industry insights current and my own skills sharp.

My motivation for teaching stems from a genuine passion for unlocking potential and building actionable structure around creative talent. I choose to coach because I know firsthand how transformative the right guidance can be when navigating competitive performance spaces, preparing for LAMDA exams, or developing a script. I treat every student’s goals with the highest level of professional dedication, offering a supportive yet completely direct environment where you can shed self-doubt, master your technique, and achieve measurable progress.

About the lesson

With a degree in dance and drama and 16 years of experience as a performing arts teacher in further education, I provide expert, ego-free coaching tailored entirely to your goals. Whether you are preparing for prestigious LAMDA examinations, gearing up for highly competitive drama school entrance auditions, refining a new script, or mastering stage combat, my lessons offer a structured, practical space to elevate your craft.

My Teaching Approach
I don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" methodology. My coaching is practical, focused, and designed around high-efficiency skill building. I break down complex performance techniques into clear, actionable steps, using structured feedback to help you build real confidence rapidly. We will focus on physical presence, vocal dynamics, character analysis, and text interpretation.

Who These Lessons Are For

Aspiring Professionals & Students: Perfect for those aiming for drama school entry or working towards LAMDA examinations.

Writers & Creators: Tailored support for playwriting structure, dialogue, and character development.

All Levels: From absolute beginners wanting to build public speaking confidence to seasoned performers looking to sharpen specific skills.

Lesson Structure
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, though 90-minute intensive sessions can be arranged for deep-dive audition preparation. Every session is meticulously structured to ensure maximum progress, leaving you with clear, practical steps to implement before our next meeting.
