About Carl

I am an experienced graphic designer and artist who has taught junior level designers professional skills for over 20 years. I have worked extensively in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as many other programmes but now focus on Affinity Photo and Designer.

I now run my own business as a designer/illustrator and have a wide range of skills and knowledge I can pass on to you! I am patient and understanding, I have a good sense of humour, have illustrated nationally and locally.

About the lesson

I try to keep everything fairly informal and I create a series of lessons where students can work at their own pace, with plenty of help and guidance along the way.

If the students wish, I can deal with specific areas instead if they already know the basics. I like to set small homework tasks that will help top-up their knowledge and give us something to work with right at the start of the next lesson.

Perfect! I approached Carl with a challenge he hadn't done before, his knowledge is exceptional. i only planned to learn what i need Illustrator for, I'm 10 sessions in now and loving it.

Details

My rates are £30/hour for a single student and include private, non-commercial clients.

I can work to half hour rates so if you book 2 hours but then wish to have a little longer, I can charge by the half-hour (i.e. £15/thirty minutes).

Art students will be provided with a small list of materials required to complete the course so they can buy them from their chosen supplier.

Commercial clients (businesses, sole traders etc.) are charged £40/hour per student/operator. These can also include half-hour charging if required (£20/thirty minutes).

All Adobe students must have a pc or Mac with the relevant Adobe product licensed and downloaded. For multiple students, please contact me for a price. Teaching in person is free up to 8 miles from Sandbach, Cheshire.
