About Miriam

Hallo!
My name is Miriam, I'm 23 years old and I am from Northern Germany. A few words about me: After high school, I completed my bachelor's degree in Germany and abroad, eventually ending up in Paris, France. Having lived abroad for a while now, I speak English fluently and my French is not too bad, but not very fluent either. Meeting so many internationals, I started appreciating to share my knowledge of German. What I like most about it is the cultural aspect that is always linked to language which makes it so much fun exchanging about it and explaining the langauge authentically. So I decided to make it my profession and become an English and German teacher. In high school, I already had two French students for a year, which gave me a lot of experience working with students.
Not too long ago, I was in your position, learning two languages and having trouble to finally get that last little something that was still missing - the courage to speak and to make mistakes. What I needed was a teacher who would teach me the language naturally and not just by following expensive textbooks and learning boring grammar rules by heart. I would like to be that teacher for you, so that you can learn German with ease and can actually have fun doing it.

About the lesson

I prepare my language lessons carefully, considering the needs of each of my students. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and well understood. At the beginning of the course, we will discuss your goals, your reasons for taking this course, and your expectations so that I can help you in the area you wish to improve.

In my opinion, the best way to learn a language is to practice it. That's how I learned English myself and also French. Nevertheless, depending on your level and needs, we will of course also work on grammar and reading comprehension. Having studied two languages in school and university, I know how tiring traditional methods of teaching grammar can be. In my classes, you will never feel tired or frustrated learning this language, as I use more practical and lively methods. They will motivate you and make you want to learn German. My classes are there for you to have fun learning German
