About Luca
Hey there!
My name is Luca, I'm a professional Saxophonist, Multi-Instrumentalist and Composer based in Melbourne, Australia.
I've been teaching music for over 5 years, and have been playing music for nearly 2 decades!
I'm passionate about teaching music theory, and helping my students to decode some of the mysteries around it!
I was trained by some of Australia's leading musicians and have developed excellent technique, which I pass on to my students.

My teaching style takes a holistic approach towards musicianship through mastering fundamental skills and knowledge, providing students with the confidence to write, perform and improvise both independently and alongside fellow musicians.
Lessons are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour as this provides enough time to both explain and practice musical concepts.
I have spent a number of years teaching both privately and in schools to a wide range of ages and skill levels across Saxophone, Guitar and Music Theory, from young beginners all the way to other music University graduates looking to hone their skills.
My lessons cover a variety of topics including:
Saxophone technique and tone
Playing over jazz standards/chord changes
Transcribing, memorizing and notating music by ear
Developing aural skills and relative pitch
Harmonic and rhythmic theory
Reading music notation
Song and ensemble arrangement
